Umar Arshad
Biography
Umar is the Co-creator of Fyat Lux, the world’s first “phygital” (physical + digital) NFT project which engages in storytelling in the metaverse through 3D characters and in the real world through augmented reality and physical smart cards. In addition to leading the Fyat Lux revolution, Umar is the Co-founder and CEO of Matiria, an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) for MIT’s Fuse Accelerator Program, and a Lecturer at MIT. Prior to this, he was at Vuforia, PTC where he oversaw growth strategy for its augmented reality business. Originally a lawyer by training, Umar has extensive knowledge in the world's most cutting-edge technologies, having worked as an attorney for Finnegan, a law firm specializing in intellectual property, and as the Head of IP and Innovation at comScore.
Umar studied computer science at Virginia Tech and received his J.D. and MBA from George Washington University and the MIT Sloan School of Management respectively.
